Bagels!


After waffling about it for much too long, I finally made bagels today. Why did I wait so long? They aren't complicated at all! Sheesh.

Okay, so they don't look absolutely perfect, but this was my first time. They taste yummy, though!

Next up: Walnut Rye bread (hopefully.)

Hmm. Yours are prettier than mine usually are.

Well, I did the flatten a ball of dough and pull the middle apart to form a hole technique, not the roll it out and pray it sticks together technique. That may be why? How do you do yours? :)

I flatten the ball of dough and stick my finger through the middle, then swirl it like pizza dough. That's what it said in my book. Mine don't look terrible, but yours are prettier. They are rounder, actually.

wow, I have always wanted to try to make some homemade bagels but I have been too chicken, perhaps I should give it a whirl this weekend.
